The 8th Annual Jamey Johnson Homecoming Concert and Golf Tournament benefitting The Nikki Mitchell Foundation
Devils River Whiskey recently participated in The 8th Annual Jamey Johnson Homecoming Concert and Golf Tournament benefitting The Nikki Mitchell Foundation (NMF) on October 6 in Montgomery, Alabama. This year’s event raised over $550,000 for pancreatic cancer research and featured a live auction as well as musical performances by Jamey Johnson, Kid Rock, Toby Keith, Randy Houser, and Lee Brice. Other celebrities in attendance included Pro Golfer John Daly, Actor Dennis Quaid, and Comedian Ron White.
Devils River Whiskey was on site at the golf tournament providing samples to the participants and helped raise over $50,000 in charitable donations. During the live auction, Pro Golfer John Daly came in with the highest bid at $17,500 for a hand-selected 10L barrel of Devils River 117-proof Barrel Strength Whiskey donated by the company. Additionally, a painting by Artist Cameron Knight Watson of Jamey Johnson carrying last year’s 10L barrel sold at auction for $32,500. This was the 3rd year Cameron Knight Watson was commissioned by the Jamey Johnson Homecoming Concert and Golf Tournament to create a piece for auction during the event. Cameron studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design and has been painting since graduating in 2001. Her works can be found at http://www.cameronknightwatsonpaintings.com.
Devils River Whiskey President & Co-Founder Mike Cameron, who has been involved with Jamey Johnson and NMF since its inception said, “The Nikki Mitchell Foundation has been hard at work over the past 8 years raising funds to find a cure for this deadly cancer. I’ve been honored to be a part of this organization since the beginning, and Devils River is committed to supporting great causes like this.”
